Heidelberg Photo Fun!
Just last week I visited the Heidelberg Project's & Tyree's "Street Folks" exhibit. I got some excellent pictures and I am very motivated to go back & get more pictures once all the trees bloom & the grass brightens up! I took well over 200 pictures & almost all of them turned out perfect :) I went on that gorgeous Sunday just last week but as I drive around I notice that the Spring has been doing its job! I am waiting for the perfect sunny day within the next few weeks to go to on a planned tour around Detroit & take pictures of all our well known statues, buildings, you name it... Until then I am focusing on wrapping up this semester, but we have only a couple more weeks!

Busy Bee Tuesday!
I got a lot on my plate this week! I have been working hard in all my classes to stay up to date with all my assignments. All is moving according to plan. My "type in motion" graphic design 3 assignment is really coming together. Today I got my entire storyboard finished, and I am now ready to start producing my actual mini video. My senior seminar is pushing me to ever continue perfecting my portfolio and right now we are working on an electronic PDF portfolio and cover letter to start preparing for applying to graphic design companies. I have been thoroughly enjoying my Art History class with Mame. I have been back and forth w/ Tyree working on putting together some building blue-prints for the Brewster Projects. I have a lot of great idea's such as ariel views, side & window views, and floor plans including staircases. All including measuring estimates for him to show what kind of dimensions he will be dealing with. He is a great person & I love the time I am getting to spend with him. I'm almost done editing the flier for Courtney and the ACE2 program. As far as the class meetings for AH 4240, we have great discussions and presentations every week. I am extremely impressed with the set-up of this class and I feel like I am learning much more valuable art history than a typical lecture class. Being a Fine Art major, hands on is more my type of class! I am more than glad I took this class. Let the good times keep rolling and experiences unforgettable :)

New Developments!!!
Just today Joe & I went with Tyree to the Brewster Projects & went through all four abandoned buildings. It was really quite amazing getting the chance to explore these historic apartments. Both Joe and I took our camera's and captured some really great pictures. I really must say, I got flash backs of sneaking in the old abandoned train station while walking in the apartments. I thought it was an amazing experience walking up 14 flights of stairs talking and listening to one of the most amazing abstract artists of all time. He is very inspirational! Everything is starting to come rolling along :)
Much More Too Come!
Sorry fellow bloggers that this is only my second blog. But like this blog is titled there while be much more to come! I have been staying extremely busy with my classes the 1st quarter of the semester. They are keeping me productive and challenging me in many ways. Graphic Design 3 is moving along just fine & we are just starting to learn media in motion. Senior Seminar has been pushing me to improve on my resume & is really helping me build my portfolio. Speaking of helping me build my portfolio and resume, a lot of the things I am working on this semester in my Art History class will be doing just that. There are several projects I am working on with the Heidelberg Projects. I am creating a flier for the Ace 2 program & will be working on fliers for a couple projects that Tyree has me working on. And once they are finished I will be proud to include all this in my portfolio & resume. I have been having a great time working with & getting to know Tyree and all his wonderful staff. I have had several meetings with all of them about all their upcoming events. They have so much going on this year & it is going to be exciting to be a part of all this history. I will be posting regularly so please keep checking as I inform you on this wonderful journey!

The First Blog of Kevin Pollock :)
Hello "world-wide-webbers"!!! I am hear to share my experiences of my amazing Art History class. This isn't your ordinary Art History class though. We have only had two class meetings so far, & I can already tell that this is going to be one of my favorite classes of ALL time! As a social practice, we as students will volunteer 25 hours to a community based project. The community based projects all have great causes in their own unique way. The organizations we will be working closely with throughout the semester are as follows:
CAPUCHIN SOUP KITCHEN
MARINERS INN
HEIDELBERG PROJECT
CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL of MICHIGAN
KARMANOS CANCER INSTITUTE
Just the other day we had a "mini field-trip" to where we visited every location except for the Karmano's Cancer Institute. It was very interesting getting the chance to see all our options before we have to narrow them down & decide which one we want to volunteer for. It's kind of one of those situations where you wish you could choose them all, but that would make for a hectic semester! I most definitely have my choices narrowed down, but that's a secret for now because nothing is ever set in stone! If interested please check back because I will constantly be updating my BLOG with new experiences from this class! I look forward to a productive, exciting year & I want the world to know all about it. :)
